Anna- About Me

I have been working at Saints Health and Fitness for over 2 years. In that time I have gained a vast knowledge of training individuals through the undertaking of qualifications and through experience gained from working in the fitness environment and with other exercise professionals. I have become passionate about promoting the benefits of exercise to everybody, irrelevant of age, ability or fitness and helping people see great improvements to their health, physical and mental wellbeing.

I teach Spinning classes and Female only circuit style classes. Being female myself I emphasise with other ladies’ desires, goals and worries. I try to teach and motivate them and help them to overcome their various challenges, seeing them succeed and advance both physically and in confidence and self esteem.

My inspiration to become an instructor in the fitness industry was from my own personal battle with anorexia and the desire to help others with similar problems and issues. I joined Saints whilst still suffering and was put on a suitable programme and monitored regularly. In time my self esteem, confidence and fitness increased and as a consequence my own battles were easier to fight. Exercise, a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle has transformed me into a healthy, fit and confident lady and I now want to pass this on. When I started at Saints I was just under 7 stone. I am now 8 stone, fit and toned and loving it! I hope that being open about my experiences will allow others to feel that they can approach me to help them with their struggles and worries. I thank those who listened, advised, guided and at times supported me and I hope I can help people feel what I do today.

My personal goals continue and I plan this year to run the Snowdon Marathon as well as some half marathons. I want to raise money and highlight the issues surrounding eating disorders and help others overcome this dreadful disease.

I have learnt though that with the correct training along with a balanced diet anything is possible. With a holistic approach to exercise and support and guidance I hope to give my clients not only the results their want but also the tools to continue reaping the benefits for themselves in years to come.

Whether it is to do with food, fitness or merely confidence, I understand! Please feel free to ask me anything, no matter how silly you think it is!

       

Anna- Testimonials

I have been attending Anna’s Circuit Class for the past twelve months.

I have found her to be friendly and welcoming. I am sixty two years of age and the eldest member of the group and have never felt out of place.

She introduced me to running through her outdoor circuit classes and I have gone on to run in 5k and 10k charity races.

Her instructions throughout her circuits are always clear and she checks that we are feeling alright at regular intervals.

During outdoor circuits we run and stop on route to do start jumps, squats, lunges and she has now introduced sprints.

When the weather is bad we do indoor circuits. Anna sets up circuits with the  equipment to improve aerobic capacity, muscle development, toning and stretching.

Anna always finishes her classes with cooling down exercises making sure we are al stretched out well.

Anna is observant and showed me exercises to improve my posture, there being a noticeable improvement,

Anna has helped me to achieve a higher level of fitness and I am now well toned.

Anna is a popular member of staff and as asset to the club.

 I have been attending the ladies circuit class since January this year and Anna has always made it a fun and worthwhile class.  She is an enthusiastic teacher who obviously puts a lot of thought into each session - because it's different every time.  If the weather is good, we do the class outside, making the most of the beautiful countryside literally on the doorstep of Saints. 

There are usually between 10 and 20 women taking part in the class - and there is a big variety of ages and capabilities, but Anna somehow manages to give everyone special attention and ensures that each member gets a great workout that meets their individual needs.  She is always encouraging and has a "Can do" attitude.  Her positivity and enthusiasm really add to the classes.  She is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about fitness and because she is so open and approachable it's easy to ask her anything - she never makes you feel as though you are asking a stupid question.

Anna's friendly outlook has also helped to create a good, fun atmosphere in the class.

Attending this class has helped to improve my overall fitness and my stamina; I have noticed changes in my body shape, in my strength and my aerobic capability.  I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve existing fitness levels (at whatever standard - people in the class range from beginners to pretty capable runners) and especially to anyone who needs a bit of a push and finds it boring just being in the gym

Anna is a real credit to the Saints Health and Fitness team – always there no matter what time of day to greet you with her cheerful smile. Her energy is enviable and her enthusiasm a million times more. It is so wrong to actually like her classes – although it hurts like hell she gets you through it – and you do actually walk away on a high (how bizarre!)

She is professional although lots of fun and she really knows her stuff. Her knowledge and physical ability is admirable and she certainly had the physique to prove it which in itself is an inspiration to all I am sure.

She’s always approachable and forever willing to lend a hand, show you how, tell you why and of course YES YOU CAN DO IT! A real motivator is a profession she obviously enjoys.

I have attended Anna’s circuit classes on a regular basis since her first one and have always thoroughly enjoyed them. Since then her confidence has grown and she plans her class to perfection, always having a wide variety of exercises, for all ages and abilities. When we go out she makes use of the surrounding area very well and always makes good judgements on the weather conditions and in her plans on where we go. She is well organised and is committed to her course and to her job. I have noticed over the past few weeks that Anna has developed her skills in giving orders, in a nice but firm manner and I respect her for this as it motivates me. She praises her class for their efforts and is always very encouraging. I feel that Anna is very dedicated and this has a knock on effect in her classes. Well done Anna!
